WHAT IS DISTILLED INTELLIGENCE 1.0?
This event will change how companies are funded in the Mid Atlantic region. The area's hottest startups are being presented with an opportunity to present to Angel investors and Venture Capital firms in search of deals to invest in! Fifty startups will be selected to compete for a chance to win cash and prizes totaling $25,000 (no strings attached). The event hosts and sponsors have taken on the mission of pairing startups with investors and we are confident that companies will obtain funding as a result of attending this event. |

WHO WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE?
The 55 startup companies that have been selected will have the opportunity to pitch their business onstage in front of an audience of investors, fellow entrepreneurs, a panel of distinguished judges, the media, and well-known executives from various corners of the business community, and government organizations.
DATE AND LOCATION:
Distilled Intelligence 1.0 will take place on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the CIT building (Center for Innovative Technology) located near the intersection of Route 28 and the Dulles Toll Road in Herndon, Virginia.
WHO HAS APPLIED?
All startup are encouraged to apply! Startups should have a product or managed service, a great team, and the ability to present their elevator pitch in under 60 seconds (first phase of the competition), and in under 3 minutes with a series of slides (phase two of the competition). The desire to win cash prize money with no strings attached is certainly a great motivator and reason enough to apply. However, the event also provides the opportunity to network throughout the day for startups, Angel Investors, VCs, potential clients, partners, the media, and established industry leaders.
